Greenwich Safeguarding Children Board
Who We Are
The Board is chaired by John Nawrockyi (Director of Adults’ and Older People’s Services, Greenwich Council), and a team of five is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Board.
Veronica Mythen (Professional Advisor to the Board and Children’s Safeguarding Manager), Mary Jacob (GSCB Development Officer) and an administrator are based at the Adhikaar Centre in Kidbrooke. Tom Owens is the Child Protection Co-ordinator (Education), providing safeguarding children advice, support and training to Schools. Tom has produced easy to use child protection guides for schools and these can be downloaded from the Documents page.
The Board’s training team is based at Bowater Road in Woolwich.
Wendy Sweet is the GSCB Training Administrator, and Sue Murray is the GSCB Staff Training and Development Co-ordinator. A Staff Learning and Development Officer has been recruited, and as soon as she is in post, we’ll introduce her to the network on this page. Sue and Wendy work closely with colleagues in Children’s Services to ensure that all angles of safeguarding training are addressed across the Service.
