Current Projects
The Greenwich Safeguarding Children Board is involved in a number of projects which aim to improve or support professional safeguarding practice in the borough. The projects all have a number of things in common:
- They are all time-limited, this avoids issues drifting and remaining unresolved;
- All the projects aim to help professionals improve their knowledge and their practice;
- The outcomes from the projects all contribute to keeping children and young people in Greenwich safe from harm.
Most of the projects have come about as a result of regional (the London Safeguarding Children Board) or national guidance, identifying important areas of concern that need our attention.
Some of the projects we’ve either led, or been involved in, include:
- Raising awareness about private fostering.
- Supporting the development of an anti-bullying strategy.
- Raising awareness about children and young people at risk from sexual exploitation.
- Supporting organisations to develop safe recruitment practices.
- Developing common induction standards across the children’s work force.
- Developing an inter-agency, borough-wide e-safety strategy.
